Bread is often the thing missed most when avoiding wheat or gluten. This is our reliable go-to recipe which is high in protein and healthy fats. Made with just three simple ingredients – easily remembered as BEG – Butter, Eggs and Ground Almonds, ensured to beat the bloat and boasts more nutrition than most traditional loaf recipes!
Use as you would regular bread for a round of sandwiches, a stack of toast, or – our personal favourite – fried up with lashings of melted garlic butter.

BEG for Bloatless Bread
Equipment
- Oven
- Hob
- Electric Whisk
Ingredients
- 150 g Ground Almonds
- 100 g Butter or Ghee or Coconut Oil
- 6 Eggs
- 1 tsp Baking Powder or ½ tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Pre-line baking tin.
- Melt butter. Put butter in glass dish on top of a boiling pan of water, stir until melted.
- Whisk eggs until bubbles form.
- Combine ground almonds and baking powder.
- Pour butter into the eggs and mix.
- Add the dry mixture and apple cider vinegar, stir to completely combine.
- Pour into pre-lined tin.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
